Greetings again!
A friend wants me to find a BYOC alternative to the Chandler Tube Driver.
What would be the best option in your opinion?

Thanks
tom

I'll take a stab at this, though I'm not really a drive expert (I'm sure they will chime in!).

The Chandler uses a vacuum tube to achieve the overdrive, and therefore none of the BYOC pedals will be an exact match. However, you could get pretty close to the tone, if not the feel, of this pedal using the Crown Jewel as it sports an almost limitless tweaking capability.

For a slightly less versatile pedal that still has some (pretty darn good) level of flexibility, try the OD2.

Hope that helps!

The Green Pony is also an excellent sounding and very versatile overdrive....and very reasonably priced, as well.

Thank you both!
I have the Crown Jewel built, the Green Pony still has to be assembled :-)
I don't have the OD2. But I have the Classic OD.
I'l let him compare.
Thanks again :-)
