Greetings!
A friend wants me to find a BYOC alternative to the Echoplex EP3.
Am I correct in assuming that the Echo Royal is the best alternative?

It's a great choice, but I don't believe it's voiced to sound like the Echoplex. Something like the 1776 Effects Multiplex might get you closer to the tone you're looking for. I would have your friend listen to demos to decide.
