The value of a passive volume pot at the very end of a circuit makes little or no real difference. It changes the output impedance. Some people think lower is better. A100k is just an extremely common value. The 1M resistor is there to reduce footswitch pop. The main difference between the Li'l Fuzz and the original fuzz face (silicon version) is the addition of the 25k trimpot and the 150pF cap. The trimpot is there to provide an adjustable bias. The cap is a suppression cap which prevents the fuzz from going into self-oscillation when the fuzz knob is turned all the way up. This would happen sometimes with the silicon version.
Thx so much! Any modifications needed to place BC183A transistors?
Also I have ordered some vintage components
1 X 470R Piher 1/3W Carbon film resistor
1 X 8,2K Allen Bradley Jan resistor (militar specs) 10% selected at 5%
1 X 8,2K Piher 1/3W resistor 5% (if you want experiment another resistor in that position)
1 X 33K Allen Bradley Jan resistor (militar specs) 10% selected at 5%
1 X 100K Piher 1/3W resistor 10% selected at 5%
1 X 2,2uF 63V BC components (Philips) axial capacitor
1 X 22uF 25V BC components (Philips) axial capacitor
1 X 10nF 160 Mustard axial capacitor
Am I able to use all of the components or just the ones that match what the kit calls for?
