Hi,
I am curious to learn if the BYOC kits have some sort of protection that prevents a loose battery connector as may be found inside the enclosure from energizing or shorting to the enclosure or components when an external power supply is used?

I have built a Spring Reverb pedal and a Classic Overdrive where I included the battery connection but almost always use an external power supply.

FWIW, I added an IN4001 diode to the DC input jacks for protection from reverse polarity issues.

Should I be concerned about possible problems or has this been addressed in the design of the circuits?

Thank you.

Not an issue--the DC jack is designed with an internal disconnect of the battery whenever an external power supply cable is plugged in.

The Spring Reverb already has a polarity protection diode (1N4001 in the lower right corner), but that's a good addition to the COD.
