Not sure I've seen anyone modify a Large Beaver with an octave-up module, though I would guess that it's certainly possible. However, if you wanted to integrate that capability into your existing pedal, I'm sure it would involve moving everything into a larger enclosure. But it seems a shame to do that to your existing pedal, which looks great. I would suggest doing exactly what the last sentence of your post suggests--build a stand-alone octave-up unit and place it behind your LB in your pedal chain. This could be done with the Crown Jewel Octave-up Module and the Module Daughter Board, both available on the
CJ product page. The daughter board will require the purchase of a handful of components, plus you'd also need to buy an enclosure and the required hardware for it (jacks, footswitch, optional level pot) and do the drilling yourself. This is all covered in quite a bit of detail in this thread:
