This doesn't seem like that heavy of a lift.

And the main concern (that I've always heard) is that you are working with 120 vac. But you sell amps now, so that shouldn't be as much a concern anymore.

And yes, there are other places where you can get the parts for a power supply, but it would be nice to have it all in one tight little kit. You could make the swiss army knife of power supplies, 12v, 18v, adjustable isolated, etc.

Good idea. You just know BYOC would do it right.

That's just the thing. We can't. About a year ago, I started working on a power supply kit. It's just not economically feasible. I could make a crappy Dunlop Brick style PS, but I don't want to do that. I want to make something that rivals and surpasses anything Voodoo Labs is producing. Unfortunately, good transformers are not cheap. I built a few prototypes. I'm using one on my pedal board right now. But no one would want to pay that much for a kit.

The bottom line is, BYOC doesn't have enough capital to buy the quality transformers I want to use, in the quantity that is required to get them down low enough that the kit would be affordable. Maybe this would be a good kickstarter thing.

Is selling just the pcb an option or sell it with the enclosure and pcb or are the risks(liabilities) too high?
