Hi
The Analog chorus is a CE-2 clone. I was wondering why there isn't a CE-1 clone available?
Is it because it's difficult/expensive or is it just a matter of time/preference?

I suppose it can't be as simple as just 'changing a few values' in the Analog Chorus circuit?
:D

Best regards!
Tom

Really different beasts. One way to get there is to build the VB-2 vibrato clone and do the very simple chorus mod. That gets you pretty close.

I feel your pain, I love that CE-1 sound.. but yeah, for starters it was AC-powered, and most certainly has some very obsolete parts in there to boot. I like the VB-2 with chorus mod advice though! Might have to get around to that sometime.

Very lush, very analog sounding chorus, plus you get the vibe too. Kinda like a CE-1!

Thanks!
I'll look into that!

Edit: Do you mean the Mega chorus and vibrato?

Known as the “analog vibrato” on the BYOC product page, I believe. Although last I checked it had been out of stock for some time.

Yep, that's why i couldn't find out.
It's not even mentioned on the site.

Maybe discontinued?

:( I did not know, but just checked. That is a great pedal, maybe some unobtainium makes it not doable anymore?

Hi again
It seems like the old vibrato has been replaced :-)
Would the CE-1 mod be possible in the new analog vibrato?

It's the same circuit, just with a redesigned PCB. All the original mods that could be done with the older version can still be done with the new version.

Thanks Nick, I found the post where Keith explains how to do the mod.
I hope this gets met really close to a CE-1 :-)

I've never played a CE-1, but I did the chorus mod to my old AV, and it really does sound great, especially at subtle settings.

The CE-1 is stereo in the sense that the Jazz Chorus amplifier was: one channel is dry and the other had chorus. In the amp, one speaker output the dry signal and the other the chorus giving a nice wide psycho-acoustic effect. The VB-2 is mono so you won't quite get the same effect, though the chorus itself sounds very similar.
