Hi folks. New to this forum, building my first (lil echo). Experienced builder.

A few thoughts:

(1) A separate area to discuss the “lil” kits (perhaps it’s there and I missed it) ?

(2) I’ve found that building the Lil Echo, it is FAR easier to make the hard wire connections to the surface mounted components (pots, jacks, switches, etc.) BEFORE mounting those things into that small case. In fact, after mounting those items in the case, I could see that things were so tight that the “level of difficulty” making the wire connections would be much higher than if I took the items out of the case and wired things up. The trick, of course, is making sure you have wires that are not to long, and not too short. But that’s not that tough.

Thanks, -Dave

I agree completely, Dave, hence this thread: http://www.byocelectronics.com/board/vi ... =9&t=52513 I posted the way that I do it and moderator Stephen added his spin on the subject. But we both pre-wired the hardware before installing it in the enclosure, as you suggest.

Since that post applies to all of the mini kits, I posted it in the "DIY Discussion" forum.
