How about a noise gate pedal that's similar to the Boss NS-2, MXR M-135, or the Electro-Harmonix Silencer? The Boss NS-2 is probably the better one to model after considering that it's probably the most widely used box on the market and is used by some heavy weights in the guitar industry. However I'm a DIY kind of guy plus I like the personalized spin that BYOC always puts on their circuits.

It's on my radar. The NS-2 is good. Another idea I'm toying with is an NF-1 and SG-1 combo. The circuits are similar enough that you could have both with a flip of a switch.

That would be pretty cool as well. The only complaint that I keep hearing from most nois gate users is that it's either a tone sucker or it changes the tone all together, but the times I've used one I figured out that you don't crank he threshold all the way up or crank the decay, for the ones that have that feature, all the way you. I think people get the idea that they are meant to be the end all be all of noise cancellation when in reality they are only meant to dampen the noise to a more manageable level
