Hi
Finishing the Divided Octave
I thought I jot down some possible issues/improvements concerning the instructions:
Most of them really aren't big issues, but they could cause a novice to start "panicking"
- germanium glass diode orientation issue
- the 4.7uF (highlighted in yellow) is actually round in my kit
- some of the smaller values film caps that should be orange aren't

Agreed. This should be addressed in the instructions, since these double-banded diodes are very confusing.

I think this is adequately covered in the Divided Octave instructions. See notes on pages 11 and 13.

There is a note to address this concern on the finished pedal photo page of the newer BYOC kit instructions that says:

"Your kit may come with different color capacitors, switches etc. Don’t be alarmed by this. They all still do the exact same thing."

Unfortunately, some the older instructions lack this note. Good idea to add it.

Thanks for your comments. I'll make sure that Nick, who handles the instruction updates, is aware of them.

some other minor things:

- in the instructiones it is mentioned that you should connect the battery disconnect of the 9V to the PCB, there's also a batter snap in the kit
"Connect the battery disconnect terminal of the DC adaptor jack to the eyelet more towards the center of the PCB with 2 of hookup wire".

- Footswitch wires: "Cut 2 x 1 inch pieces of wire", there should be 3 pieces of 1 inch :-)
I cut the 12 footswitch wires to the exact lenght, and i will definitely make them a little longer next time, it was a close call...
