Hello everyone this is my first post.

I am building a Li'l Mouse kit which is my first DIY stomp box. I'm having fun and things are going well. I should say that all was good until I realized that I had put the aluminum electrolytic capacitors in wrong. I was glad to solder them neatly into the board sticking straight up like tubes in a guitar amp or tiny little grain silos. I didn't get that they are supposed to be put in laying on their side. I had soldered them as close to the PCB as possible (like I thought you're supposed to) so there is no way to just bend them over and I had trimmed the legs already so I can't just reset them.
The replacement parts are already in my shopping cart and it will only cost a couple of dollars to replace them.

Oh well. I had a good laugh at myself because I always seem to have to do things the wrong way the first few (or more) times.
This gave me an idea. I don't know if anyone has suggested this before but what if when you bought a new pedal kit, you could choose an option to pay a bit extra to get another "safety" set of PCB components. I'd be happy to pay to have spare parts that I could use in the likely event that I might very easily mess up some part of the PCB populating process. The unused resistors, caps and diodes etc. would just get saved for another time.

Just a thought.
