Using this diagram for the confidence booster:

How would I install a killswitch before the confidence booster using a momentary normally open spst switch? ( http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok ... s=dff80974 )

u want to install a killswitch into what? if its into the confidence booster wire one lug to the sleeve and one lug to the tip of your output...the momentary switch will only cut signal when pressed...if you want it to stay off when you step on it then get a latching stomp switch.

On the wiring diagram above, why are the film capacitor slots highlighted in red? Does this mean that the capacitors need to be changed from the ones that come in the byoc kit if you want to modify this build to be housed with a footswitch? I would like to put mine in a housing and actually use it so I'm trying to find out what I will need to get and how to do it. The diagram looks very doable for me but the highlighting confuses me.

One other question...what does RoHS compliant mean? If I was to purchase a footswitch, does it need to be RoHS compliant? thanks guys.

ignore the red markings, they are from the instructions and someone put a wiring diagram onto that. rohs compliant basically means "lead free" and useable in europe, whereas the us has no rohs compliancy laws and it does not matter

Hi,
I am a new entry. :D
I'd like yo know if the schematic shown above for the CB is a true bypass wiring.
Thank you very much,
Alberto

I'm OK, it's true bypass. I realized this info (CB housing with true bypass) was
in a previous thread.
Anyway, Thank you!

Anyone have this schematic image? It’s not showing up for me. Thanks!

I just tried to put this all together as the above diagram dictates. I had trouble fitting it all cleanly in the enclosure (mostly due to leaving my wires too long.)

Well I went to test it, plugged it in to the power supply on my pedal board and had only this confidence boost, and my a/b/y box in the chain. When I plugged the power supply in, it turned off all the other pedals on my board. All the lights went out, and this guy didn’t do anything.

What did I do? I want to fix this one. I built a classic overdrive first and had far less trouble with that for some reason.

Please help, this isn’t my strong suit, and this confidence booster is currently having the opposite effect on me.

What did I do?

Behavior like you describe usually happens when the power supply is shorted to ground and turns itself off as self-protection. Check your wiring carefully and make sure you don't have a +9V wire or solder joint shorting against the inside of the metal enclosure.
