 Post subject: Screamer at 12 volts?

I was reading on the Beavis Audio site that the screamer can handle up to 12 volts for cleaner headroom - just wanted to confirm that before I go upping the voltage.

18 v will be fine too. Most op amps are designed to run on more than 9v. I dont know how it will sound. But most pedals that operate on an 18v source have a 12v or 15v regulator in them, so they are really 12v...or 15v

I thought so. It should give it more headroom. My old Fulltone FDII and OCD were that way before I sold them...

I'm down to one last Fulltone product on my board... the Clyde... hey Mike... :P I'm waiting for the BYoC's Wah... Keith please help me with my quest to rid my board of all Fulltone products... :D

it might give the op amp more headroom but the diodes will still clip the same way. i personaly dont like op amp distortion by itself, the diodes smooth it out quite a bit.
