Having a slight issue with the distortion decay of this pedal. Sounds pretty good but there's a fizzy type distortion in the tail of the guitar signal when it fades away. Also, the LED clipping seems to be good but the diode clipping doesn't do much. Perhaps I wired this incorrectly... I've attached a picture of the entire board and a closeup of the clipping switch.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, John

I guess the first thing I would suggest is a good, thorough clean-up of that PCB. I see a lot of solder splash, heat-degraded solder mask and general crud on the PCB, especially around the pot connections. I'd gently scrape loose as much of that as possible with the blade of a small screwdriver and brush it off with an old toothbrush, then clean up any remaining crud with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips. It's possible for some of that stuff to be semi-conductive, so clean it up and see if that makes any difference.

A little cleaning and moving the wires under the board connected to the tone pot and voila! Tonal perfection. This pedal is the best thing I have ever played.

Boom!

Thanks!
