I built a Leeds Fuzz a little bit ago and for the most part I'm extremely happy with it. I'm using it primarily with bass guitar so I'm about to start changing out some caps to get a little more low end. I wonder if there might be some way to loosen up the sound of the fuzz a little bit while I'm messing around in there. Switch out the germanium diodes for silicon or something like that?

Please note, I'm a good technician but I'm not an electrical engineer or a effects designer and this is really my first step into modifying a pedal so please excuse my ignorance.

Could you explain in more detail what you mean by "loosen up the sound"?
