I'm building the Crown Jewel pedal and I wonder if it's necessary to remove them, because it seems "easier" to place the top with it and it gives you the certainty that the back of the pots won't touch the circuit (the contrary can cause problem, I guess).

However, will it might cause problem with heat ? Is it the reason why it asks to be removed.

Not necessary as long as you can get them all to fit side by side. The dust caps add about an eight of an inch to the diameter of each pot, so it can get to be a tight fit. I leave on as many as possible for the exact reason you mentioned.

Thank, that made my day :). I think I tried 6x to put everything into place. Not the best explainded part in the guide, but finaly worked! The pedal didn't work at the first place, but I realized I needed more soldered joint in the "first/last" switch.
