That's $10 cheaper than Tayda for the same part type and quantity, and these are AVX brand (fancy!).

$10/per 1000. I have gotten .1 and .01 from them so far.

Cheap!

But the tolerance SUCKS. -20% to +80%

I used some in a mini muff, tested as I dropped them in and they all measured really close. Had to give them a try for the price.

While not always the case, that can indicate that they are crappy Y5V ceramics, which have a problem that their measured capacitance falls off a cliff when they get hot or are used close to their rated voltage.

For the price, you're right. It would be hard to go wrong.

Perfect for power supply filtering, despite the tolerances!

Anybody want to split an order of these? I probably don't need 1000, but I could go for half of that. :D

Hmmm. So +22/-56 over temp range, eh? Yeah, I guess that is kinda shitty.

But how does that compare to a film cap? I should probably look that up.

Film caps are more stable. X5R and X7R aren't perfect, but are usually fine. NP0 are generally temperature and voltage insensitive, but are difficult to get in the larger capacities.

I usually just stick to those three and it is fine.

These are pretty good prices and in lower quantities if you prefer:

I'm not sure what the dielectric is.
