so a dude has released a diy project based on the boss dc-2 dimension c pedal. gonna be a bit of $ but im intrigued. so you have to bias it with an oscilloscope and a signal generator. now i can use my fathers oscilloscope but he does not have a signal generator for whatever reason. im looked for one that isnt too expensive since i will not be using it that much. need it to hit 8khz sine with a ppv of 2 to bias this pedal. any ideas?
I use an iPhone app signal generator. The one I use has sine, triangle, square, and sawtooth, with adjustments for incrementing the frequency, and gain. I made an adapter with a TRS 3.5mm plug for the audio port on the phone, and an adapter on the other end that lets me go from alligator clips to a 1/4" trs plug. It also work great for debugging.....Much better than trying to strum a guitar while listening for a signal.
I just set mine on 8khz and and could barely hear it....Woke the dog up though.
