I am looking for sockets that I can be soldered to a PCB that allows one to swap out capacitors. I am aware of what a transistor socket looks likes and have ordered several but have not been able to locate even a photo of what one looks like for capacitors.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
-=SteveO

I would use single in-line (SIL) sockets, like the ones BYOC sells at this link:
https://buildyourownclone.com/collectio ... ocketsil64

Unfortunately they are out of stock, but you can get SIL sockets from lots of places, including all the big national online retailers. They're nice because you can snap off just the amount you need, including just one.

Installation tip: get some poster putty (aka Fun-Tak, Blue Tack, etc.). Put the socket in place, cover it with the putty to hold it there, and then flip the board to solder. Works great with IC sockets as well. And you'll find a hundred other uses for it once it's on your bench.

Thanks Scott!
BTW, I have ball of Blue Tak on my bench. Found out about that stuff on this forum some time ago (I believe you were the one that mentioned it). Great stuff! Before that I was hot gluing the IC sockets to hold them in place! Lol!

Necro bump. Dang. I was using blue painters tape which worked but not perfectly. I'll try this now.
