I know. But I've had this kit setting on the shelf for some time. Everything works great, but I noticed the other day when going thru the extremes, that the signal cuts out on the Orange Squeezer when the output volume knob is all the way up. The very last bit of it's travel. Does anyone know if this is normal behavior, or might I have a dead spot in the pot? Thx.

Sounds like a dead spot in the pot. Try turning the pot back and forth a fee times. It may dislodge some crud that might have accumulated.

Or spray a little DeoxIT into the pot, if you have some on hand.

Thank you, and great ideas. Will try those and a pot replacement as a last resort.

What I discovered is that the volume cutting out is related to he OS trim pot. There is a very fine line between compression and distortion. If the trim pot is set toward the distortion side of the sweet spot, the signal will cut out as it fades and the output volume control is maxed out. A very sharp strum on the guitar will get signal thru, but it sputters out on decay.

Lowering the trim pot the other way allows the signal to fade naturally but a hair too much and you don't get an audible compression to the signal. The output is also lower and unity gain seems to be about 3:00 on the output control.

Can anyone verify this behavior on their Armstrong Twin? Not that it is bad, just wondering if this is the nature of the circuit. Thanks.
