I love my BYOC mimosa pedal, but find myself needing to crack the enclosure open to adjust the compression control, as there's lots of different great sounds to be had with different levels.

Has anyone modded the stock kit to have the compression control be external? Doesn't have to be pretty -- I'd drill a hole in the side of the enclosure and get a trim pot with a longer shaft or something like that.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Shouldn't be hard at all. Just get a 10k pot to match the value of the trimpot, and then run three wires from it to the three eyelets on the PCB where the trimpot was installed. You can mount it anywhere on the enclosure. The side is one option, but I bet you could fit it on the top of the box centered between and below the others. This might be easier to fit with a 9mm pot (as opposed to the regular pedal building 16mm pots—look for the small square teal colored ones).

Awesome, thanks for the reply. Looking online, and I'm seeing that I can get a linear or audio taper version of the 9mm 10K pot. Any suggestion on whether to get linear or audio taper for this purpose?

I'd say linear to replicate the performance of the trimpot, but it really doesn't matter. Either pot will have the exact same range of values; the difference in the taper is where each value is along the rotation. Some controls, notably volume, benefit from the audio (logarithmic) taper, which compensates for the physics of our hearing. I don't think compression is one of them, but you'll get the full range of controls either way.

I think that would work fine, but I'd get this one from Small Bear, a beloved supplier to the DIY pedal community for many years. Also a bit cheaper. :)
