I built this and was certain it worked fine for awhile but now it has very low output. I audio probed the TL074 and it passes signal but final output at pin 14 is low.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks,
B.

Got another TL074 handy that you could swap into it, Brian, and see if the IC itself is the issue?

I do. But the prospect of un-building to remove the existing one is anti-appealing

Say, you don't suppose I could piggy back another TL074 on top to see if it works? At least then I'll know there no alternative but to pull it apart and swap it.

Worth a try--I'm pretty sure they're "stackable."

Oh interesting. So you just put the new IC on top of the old one, leg to leg, and it worked?

I piggy backed a new op amp to determine that was the problem and then cut out the bad one and soldered in a the new one from the top side of the PCB.

You should start with pics of the top of your PCB.

....and start a new thread, please. We like to limit threads to a single issue; though your symptoms may be similar, the cause could very well be something completely different.
