Hello!

I am building the Li'l comp (this is my first build other than the confidence boost) and am a little confused by step 7:

Quote:
Step 7: Add the Transistors. Be sure to orient them according to the screenprint on the PCB. The 2N5457’s are highlighted in red. The 2N3904 is highlighted in green. The 2N5089 is highlighted in yellow. Do not insert them into the PCB as far as you can. Let them stick out just a little bit so that you can bend them down. See pic of finished pedal on page 6.

The picture below the instruction does highlight where the transistors go, but they're all red. How do I know which transistor goes where? Does it even matter as long as they are oriented properly?

Thanks!

The transistors in that particular build are all the same, so it doesn't matter which goes where. This isn't the case with all the pedals, but it is with the Li'l Comp. Just make sure you orient them correctly.

Ah...I see what's confusing. That's cut and paste from the Tremolito. But for the Li'l Comp it should be all 2N3904. Sorry about that. We're fixing it now.

Thanks for the quick turnaround!

Does that mean all my transistors in the kit should be 2N3904? The transistors I have are all different, but all are in the parts checklist.

2N3904, 2N5088, and 2N2222 are all essentially the same. What do you have in your kit?

I don't have the set in front of me right now, but when I was looking at them last night, there were three different types, all within the list in the parts checklist. I'll treat them all as if they were the same.

Thanks for your help!
