I just finished the build to the 5 knob comp. When I went to adjust the trim pot I set the pedal as suggested turned it on and no sound came through. As I turned the ratio knob CCW I began to get signal through but as far as I can tell all I can get through is dry signal. Any help would be appreciated.

You should reflow all your solder joints. The general rule is that if you can see into the eyelets, there isn't enough solder. Go through and reflow your joints, then let us know if anything changes.

I reflowed the solder and nothing has changed. I'm going to pick up a multimeter to check the pins of the ic.

As I was double checking my signal path I managed to short something and now the led isn’t turning on. Looking at other threads I noticed that certain voltages were different.

So a quick update. The pedal is working now. I ended up using a magnifying glass to check all my solder joints, which showed a bridge and some starved solder joints. Then I replaced the wiring. The pedal sounds great now. Super happy with how it turned out.

A good practice to get into for those that are new to soldering is to inspect each and every solder joint as you go with a magnifying glass. Solder the joint, inspect it, solder the next one, inspect it, etc. It’s also a good idea to check to see if there is a nearby solder pad that is connected to the one you are about to solder. This way if you accidentally make a solder bridge across the two it won’t matter.

There’s a soldering tutorial somewhere isn’t there?

Several good ones on YouTube--just search on "soldering tutorial". And, of course, there's always Stephen's Tips....

^^^^ that’s the one I was referencing. Truth be known, I dug through a lot of tech help threads before I built my first pedal to see if there were any trends, and soldering was the main one, with reflowing solder joints being the fix.
