This my build on the classic compressor.
Went with tants like the old Ross, except the big filter cap, not a tants best spot to use anyway.
like the film caps Supplied much more than the old Ross ceramics.
Q1 and q2 were changed to mpsa18s, the rest I used
2n5088’s , q3 and q4 were picked by curve tracing to get similar to each
Other due to how the circuit works.
The 2ac1849 showed very low gain hfe around 150, vrs the 2n5088 around 250 hfe.
The maps18’s run 700 plus hfe, I like them in the first gain areas.
Some may like the sound of the low gain transistors breakup, but noise will increase as well.
Chose not to use them.
I want clean other than the ic compression slight breakup, seemed to work as planned.

Pleased with the sound of both ic chips, coupled with the analog delay it’s a chicken picking
Dream....I think the household is glad I am on the internet now...lol

Need to try a 18v power supply next.
Great lil vintage style compressor!

So clean, nicely executed. I need to do another opticomp at 18v.
