I had an interesting situation occur while building an Armstrong Twin. I accidentally put the 10uf cap in the wrong spot. I guess that's what I get for doing the build on a Friday night instead of Saturday morning. I was taking my time and all, just a bit tired, especially after just sorting out all the resistors. Anyway, I ended up putting it into the wrong spot. While trying to remove it from the board, one of the leads came out of the capacitor. I figured I was screwed for the evening, but decided to try to put the lead back into the cap. I carefully pushed the lead back into the cap, and continued on with the build putting everything in the right spot.

I completed everything, and it seems to be working. I'm a little shocked, but both the compressor and green ringer seem to be functioning. Is there potential worse damage that can be caused by keeping this capacitor in the pedal?

Thanks.

The 10uF is part of the compressor response mod on the orange squeezer side, it's one of the settings of the toggle switch (the left side when viewed from the top I think). If the cap is broken, you will not hear a difference between that setting and the middle setting of the toggle. Other than that, there's no harm at all. But I would get a new cap and replace it.

The connection between the lead and the capacitor's innards may fail if it hasn't already. The 10uf cap is part of the circuit that controls the speed (slow) of the attack. I would pull it and install a new one if it were me.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I'll definitely replace the cap....it's just good to know I won't be doing any damage in the interim.
