hope this helps others even if it does make me look a little stupid
- pay particular attention to how the pin/pcb connections on the short long switch are labeled:
A D
B C on the switch (I went with something different initially for some reason
)
and
A B D C on the pcb down by the LED (now note that it is "abdc" NOT "abcd" as I assumed
)
and last but not least, make sure you're using a beefy enough power supply. I had an old (*Very* old) Boss 200ma supply plugged in and could not get the delay chips to bias properly, switched to a newer 400ma one and BINGO!
, everything started behaving like the instructions said it should.
Now we're delaying with the best of them
