Dear tech support,

I recently completed the Echo Royal Build (I successfully built the Mega Chorus earlier).

So far the effect has been working every now and then.

Behaviour(always):
- LEDs etc. working normally
- Dry output working normally
- I checked Vref and Vcc at some places and they seem to be present (even when it is not working)

Behaviour (when it is working):
- Pots behaving normally
- Lots of fun!!

Symptoms (when not working)
- Mix output giving an OK dry signal, but no signal at all (not even e.g. modulation noise) when the blend knob is fully turned up
- No fun at all!!

The effect is more often in the not-working state than in the working state. What triggers it, is unclear. At one point I managed to trigger it by plugging and unplugging the power.

Tried so far
- Reseating the 4588 (was slightly tilted in its socket)
- Reseating the SA571 (just a hunch, since it plays such a central role in the delay signal)
- Reflowing some of the more dodgy looking solder joints

Any ideas? Do you have e.g. a list of voltages I could check?

Thank you very much for your help,

Gerbrand

Hi - Welcome to the forum! :D

Intermittent issues like this are typically a bad solder joint. I recommend reflowing ALL solder joints as detailed here: http://www.byocelectronics.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=52188

In general, pin 1 of each PT2399 needs to be 5 volts in order to have wet signal.

How are you powering the pedal? What is the specific power supply being used?

Hi,

I am happy to report SUCCESS. Reflowing the solder joints indeed did the trick.

Thanks for the support.

It so often does! Congrats, and enjoy the pedal!
