I had one of the versions that needed the 56k resistor tacked across the IC. I did that, and it choruses now when I turn the rate knob back and forth manually. The LED is not changing with the rate knob. It just stays on or off like a regular indicator LED. Before I post a picture, should I just try a new TL022?

Modern op amps are rarely bad. It's much more likely that you have a bad connection or solder joint in the LFO section of the circuit. You can also replace the TL022 with any typical 8-pin dual opamp if you have any in another build.
