Finished up my Echo Royal, all funtions working great except the delay time and tap multiplier. Tap multiplier starts at dotted eighth instead of quarter. Tried a different B50k pot and the issue persisted. Tapping quarter notes results in a faster delay time than what was tapped. MCU issue or?

Is the delay time knob working as expected?

Yes, delay time knob has expexted range and changes the time as expected. The tap footswitch does change the time, and holding the footswitch to change between tap time and delay knob time works, the tapped delay time is just always faster than entered. Seems to go right to dotted eighth even when the tap multiplier is all the way counterclockwise. It does change divisions progressively, but even quarter notes can't be achieved.

Is the tempo light in synch with the repeats?

This statement is confusing to me. The first sentence says that the multiplier doesn't do anything, like it's stuck at dotted eighth. The next sentence makes it sound like you can get all ratios but 1:1.

Fully counterclockwise on the knob should be 1:1, but it is not, it starts with dotted eighth. Then it continues with the expected subdivisions. No, the delay time is not in sync with the flashing of the led, regardless of using the tap tempo or delay knob to set delay time.

So yes, I can get all ratios except 1:1. When turned all the way down the tap multiplier yields dotted eighth notes instead of quarter notes. It then proceeds to generate the correct successive ratios throughout the remaining travel of the pot, but nowhere in the pots travel can an even 1:1 ratio be achieved. After looking more the led is out of sync when using the time knob to determine time! However it IS in sync with the tapped tempo when using tap to determine time, but the time result is dotted eighth of what was tapped.

...and please make them LARGE, well-focused and well-lit shots of BOTH sides of the PCB and all of your jack and switch wiring. You can either upload them to a publicly accessible location (Imgur, etc.) and then post links or directly display them here, or use the file attachment function here in the forum (1MB max. size per image file).

All resistors, caps, diodes, transistors, and the trimpot are in the right spots and with correct orientation, in addition to measuring everything with a dmm before soldering.

I purchased two echo royal kits direct from byoc, built both and they both have the exact same issue, no 1:1 ratio with the tap tempo. Do the pictures I posted help? I have built many many successful pedals before, so I really don't think it's a bad solder joint or wiring issue, and I also double checked that every component is in the correct spot with the correct values and orientation for any polarized electrolytic, diode, transistor, sockets, and ICs

My tap multiplier 50k pot is well seated and soldered. I am starting to suspect an MCU issue.

Possibly. Please email sales@buildyourownclone.com and we'll send you two new sets.
