I finished building a Bass Chorus Kit yesterday. Everything works and it really sounds great. Well done on this kit, BYOC!

However, I noticed something and thought I would ask about it here: The range of the Rate control seems very different than the two Analog Chorus kits I have built. Those can go super slow, which is how I typically use chorus, especially for bass.

The Bass Chorus is much faster. Even on the minimum Rate control setting, it is about the same speed as the Analog Chorus turned up halfway. Needless to say, it goes MUCH faster from there. It still sounds terrific but I don't think it is supposed to do that. Comparing my build to the demo video on the product listing page supports that suspicion.

Does this sound like normal behavior to you or is there likely a resistor out of place? I'm not sure that I want to do anything to correct this since I am beginning to appreciate the faster Rate capability, just curious as to what is happening here.

Good idea to check all your resistor and capacitor ratings as a first step.

I'd start by checking R32, R33, and C16. These would have the biggest impact on the rate range.

Thanks guys. I'll break out the meter when I get home.

This one was pretty challenging with all of those tiny resistors! I sorted them all using a dissecting microscope to read the bands and double checked the values with my meter. Still, something must have gotten misplaced. Oh well.

EDIT: So I opened up this pedal and pulled everything out of the enclosure tonight. Staring me right in the face was my mistake: I had inadvertently swapped the Blend and Rate control pots.

I was able to pull them both out without damaging them and they are now where they belong. Rate is as it should be.

Thanks for your advice and help!

Now that everything is working correctly, I plan on experimenting with the trim pot to get it dialed in just right.

Thanks again!
