I have "mixed feelings," as they say! At that price, clearly a Chinese knockoff, but a lot of positive feedback, with 87% 4's & 5's. OTOH, looking at some of the negative feedback, I'd make two observations:
- Several complaints that the unit is noisy....not surprising at this price point.
- Like many of the Chinese bricks, while it says it has "isolated outputs", according to several comments, this is not strictly true, i.e. the outputs are not electrically isolated from the power input, generally by the use of small transformers. Naturally, these add cost and complexity, so you're not going to get that in a $50 P/S.
All that said, I have a couple of comparable units on my home rig and they perform quite well. So if that's as much as you're really prepared to pay, go for it--with that number & proportion of positive reviews, it's pretty clearly not a "turkey." But if you have more demanding requirements, particularly if you plan to use the unit for recording purposes, I'd aim a bit higher.
