 Post subject: Chorus screw up

Hey Keith,
I have the pretty LED flashing at the speed of the chorus, but no output at all when I hit the switch....Will pictures help?

They would help of course if you've got them.

Pull the bbd out. Check the 22k/20k resistor. You should get a clean tone when the pedal is on and no bbd is in. If you don't, this means you have something wrong in the buffer section of the pedal.

Pulled the BBD, still no output. Exactly how should I test the buffer resistors?
I tested every resistor, and they all had something to say, except the 100k resistor right near the "in" pad.......that was silent.

We can assume that the problem is not a faulty component because the in/out buffer uses the quad op amp and that is shared by the LFO. If you get a blinking LED, then the LFO is working. Therefor the op amp is working. The only other components in the buffer are resistors and caps and those are rarely ever faulty. Also, testing resistance and capacitance on the board once the components have been soldered is a no no. You aren't getting a true reading. You're really getting all kinds of parallel and series readings.


So....you know the drill, bro. Touch up your joints and post pics.
