Build Your Own Clone Message Board

So I have an Envelope Filter/Fixed Wah on the way and I can't wait to build this thing. I have some questions about the pedal.

I originally thought this was a DOD 440 clone, but after looking at the boards I've gathered that BYOC used to offer a 440 clone but its envelope filter has changed over the years. It started as a two knob filter, then a three knob, then a four knob with the auto-wah mode.

If the first version was based on the 440 circuit, what is this current filter based on? I read that it's a cross between the FX25 and the 545. From what I've heard, I don't like the sound of the 545 and the FX25 seems like it can be squealy and quacky. Not as interested in the funk aspect as I am in getting those 1997 Jonny Greenwood tones, hence trying for the 440 sound.

Also, people seem to have modded the pedal using different caps throughout, but I'm wondering if I can just replace one or two caps to mellow out the trebly highs and make it smoother like a 440, but still retain some of the pedals unpredictable character when I want it.
