Operationally it's fine but when hitting the foot switch it generates a noticeable click (both audibly and in the output). None of my other BYOC pedals do this and I haven't seen any other postings on this issue so I assume it's something unique to mine. Would replacing the switch be the best choice for eliminating this?

You describe the sound as a click. Is it a mechanical clicking, like metal on metal, or a pop like unplugging a guitar before you shut off the amp?

Physical clickiness is a normal characteristic of the foot switches BYOC and most boutique pedal builders use, so that would be normal. But it sounds like you are familiar with that and this is something different. Plus that wouldn't go through the output to the amp. So let us know what it sounds like, and we'll see if we can help.

There is both a mechanical click and "unplugging a guitar" click. The mechanical click is much louder than the switches on my other pedals, loud enough that I didn't notice the unplugging click until one day when I saw the VU meter on my mixer jump when I hit the switch. The mechanical loudness is what makes me wonder if the switch itself is the issue.

I realized that I had never followed up on this. I replaced the footswitch and the problem went away.
