 Post subject: Four Legged Transistor?

Hello. Am I understanding correctly that when using the 2N5457 transistor in the Lazy Sprocket, the "extra D leg hole" (on the bottom, in this photo) is just left with nothing in it?

Yes, you understand correctly. It's there in case you use a JFET that has a S-G-D pinout instead of the D-S-G of the 2N5457. The instructions reference this (page 10).
