Build Your Own Clone Message Board

im new to this whole thing i play bass and i prefer the clean sound of it . but still i love the envelope filter effect and i want to build one i got a picture of all the parts i need and the circuit .. but i got some questions ..

is this effect made for bass or an autowah for guitars.. basicly i can use guitar effects too but an effect made for bass got better performances than usual.

Hi Micahaa808. All of the BYOC effects are made for guitar, but can be used for bass, though some may have to have some some component values changed in order to make them more suitable for bass due to the lower frequencies. The BYOC envelope Filter is based on the DOD 440, which I believe was more for guitar, but can be used with bass. There are a few mods mentioned here that may make it it respond better to bass, and I will try to verify some of these mods in the near future. I would also just like to add that since the BYOC Envelope Filter is based on the DOD 440, if you have had good results, or like the results, with one of those on your sound, than no modifcation would probably be needed.
