Like the title aays, lil Tremolo build went well, it works fine on bypass, but the sound is cut to half or less when engaged with no Tremolo effect that I can hear. Any suggestions? Photos:

Last photo is with effect engaged. LED on, no effect. Thanks!!

Can you post some larger photos? These are on the small size. A shot of the top of the PCB that fills the entire photo (or larger) would be better. We’re also going to need to see a straight on shot of the solder side of the board. Make sure the pots and jacks are out of the way so we can see everything.

From your description it sounds like you may have a resistor in the wrong place allowing some of the signal to bleed off to ground.

Did you try dialing in the trim pot?

Here are some better photos. I have tried the trumpet, but neither extreme work. There was some ambiguity with the directions, I used my multimeter to match up the resistor values as best as I could, and they most all matched up. ImageImageImage

Thanks!

You're gonna want to go through and reflow all your solder joints, they should look like little Hershey kisses

Hold off on reflowing the solder joints for now, because you have MULTIPLE resistor placement errors. Specifically:

1) You've switched the 180 ohm (181, brown-gray-black-black-brown) and 18 Kohm (183, brown-gray-black-red-brown) resistors at R8 and R15.
2) You have R3, R4 and R10 all switched around. R3 should be the 1 Mohm (105, brown-black-black-yellow-brown) currently at R10. R4 should be the 10 Kohm (103, brown-black-black-red-brown) currently at R3. And R10 should be the 100 Kohm (104, brown-black-black-orange-brown) currently at R4.

Refer to the labeled PCB diagram below for these resistor locations. Fix all these errors and re-test the pedal.

And be sure to cut off the excess component leads at the very top of the solder joint. Those little pigtails you left poking thru the solder are short circuit risks. If any of them make contact with the back of one of the pots for instance the pedal likely won’t work or you could even damage something and then you’ll have even more problems to deal with.

Hi all,

DuhVoodooMan messaged me about my resistor placement. This was my first micropedal build, and I didn't quite understand the board's syntax for resistors (i.e. 103 = 10000). Anyway, switched 5 resistors around and it works great! Thanks, as always.
