I've built the tremolo kit (first build, little experience of soldering) and I'm having problems and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what sort of problem it might be. The bypass works fine and the LED flashes with the rate when it is engaged but I get no sound. I've looked for dry joints and things but I can't find any. It's probably something obvious, I feel like a complete idiot.
Thanks in advance...

Check your off board wiring.

Did you crank your trim pot? It's the volume level. (don't crank it though, it's got a lot of output. Start halfway)

Also make sure you have a fresh battery or good power source, and make sure you have ins and outs plugged in right because its opposite on the wiring diagram....

Ok. I knew I was doing something stupid. I had the in and the out the wrong way around. Now I'm getting sound but with no noticable tremolo effect at all. The LFO is clearly working since I have a nice flashing LED. I also realise I posted this in the wrong section by mistake. I'm an idiot...

Did you try all the other suggestions given to you? Reread the prior advice.

Indeed I have tried all of that. I've also tried checking the connections to and from the board with a multimeter. Does anyone have any more specific idea what the problem might be? As I said, the LFO is obviously working as the LED blinks with the rate.

Do you have any pics? Solder side and component side, plus off-board wiring.

No, but I can take some. The lighting won't be very good though, the flash is broken. I wouldn't be surprised if you said my soldering was the worst you've ever seen.

That may be part of the problem then, as if the soldering is sloppy, there may be something touching something it shouldn't be touching and causing a short....

I have looked at all of my soldering for short circuits and dry joints and I can't find any. I'll look again though since that seems all I can do.

EDIT: It just occured to me, I'm slightly worried I may have overheated one of the transistors/JFETs. Is it easy to do this?

I can't find any short circuits or dry joints... maybe I fried something...

It's not that easy to fry a transistor. I'm not saying you didn't, I'm just saying they're pretty tough. Try taking everything out of the enclosure, See if it works like that.
