What is the purpose of C4 in the second phase-stage feedback loop? Is this to prevent high frequency oscillation? At what frequency is this attenuating gain? Reason I ask is that I want t try bypassing the feedback circuit from the 4th stage back to the 2nd. I am wondering if it's necessary to remove this 220pf to get to a Script Logo topology, or if it has no discernible effect on the circuit (and really isn't worth trying to remove this bear from completed build) - pretty tight in that area.

Thank you

C4 is not in the script or block logo schematic. It's there for a little hiss attenuation, I believe. To defeat the feedback loop and make the phaser portion more script like, you can just remove either C7, C8, or R16. But really, the regen pot dumps all the feedback signal to ground when you turn full CCW. so you won't really hear any difference by removing components versus just turning the regen all the way down.

Removing C4 might bring a little brightness in.
