I apologize for so many questions, but what makes up the input and output buffer?

This is how we learn.

Unfortunately, that’s a side effect of troubleshooting sometimes. You’re right, bypass wouldn’t work. You should reflow the stomp carefully and check for stray wires. It’s somewhat easy to overheat the stomp, so do it 1 lug at a time. Let it cool before moving on to the next.

Can I test lugs 5 and 7, well at least their connection to the PCB using the continuity checker?

Just to see if the connection is intact?

Best you can do is put the switch in effect mode and measure continuity from the tip of the input jack to the following points:
- Footswitch (FS) lug 4
- FS lug 5
- one side of R1 (10k)

Then do the same from the tip of the output jack to the following points:
- FS lug 8
- FS lug 7
- one side of R16

That will tell us if you have continuity from the jacks to the first component on the PCB

This is a very new kit. I don't think a PCB map has been generated yet.

Nice work! You've been on a build tear. As we always say: welcome to your new addition. :)
