I have begun my third pedal build; this time the chorus. My kit came with all 1/4 watt transistors, so I have them soldered upright as instructed. I mistakenly swapped the 472/473 transistor and had to remove it from the board. I had remaining solder in the hole and as I sued my solder sucker, some of the metal grommet on the top side was removed. The bottom looks fine although the hole still isn't clear (I moved the transistor that was in the incorrect place initially and put it here. As I bent the other terminal to put in the hole, the transistor cracked at the short end that had already been cut and soldered in place). Am I screwed?

Thanks!

I meant eyelet, not grommet; sorry.

May I safely assume that when you said "transistor", you actually meant "resistor?"

Duh...resistor, not transistor. Not quite awake enough when I posted

The resistor is probably fine, since those things are near bullet-proof--you probably just cracked the paint on the outside. You can always test it with a multimeter if you're still concerned, but I wouldn't worry about it.

The eyelet damage may or may not be a problem. Please post a good close-up photo (well-focused & well-lit) of the eyelet in question and specify which one it is per the labeled PCB diagram below:

I decided to have a new board sent with 1/8 watt resistors since they are easier to work with. By mistake, BYOC forgot to send the two 330K resistors but I used the 1/4 watt ones from my initial kit. I finished the assembly today and there is no sound. The pedal powers up and the LED flashes in response to the rate pot. I receive no sound in bypass or engaged. I have included photos. The first two are the top and bottom before I installed the pots and wiring. The last one is the finished build in the enclosure. Please help! Thanks!

The images are kinda small, but take a look at your output jack. I think it's wired backwards.

You mean tip and sleeve are reversed?

I looked at the instructions again. On page 22, the jack is oriented with the sleeve lug towards the board. On page 27 (the wiring page), they are reversed in orientation. I noticed this and switch the jack around. I guess page 27 is incorrect. Thanks!

Switched them; works great! Thanks! BYOC needs to correct the instructions on that page.
