Hi all - very happy to say that I completed my soaring skillet build and everything works nicely - such a crazy pedal! So much fun!

I do have a question, however. I can very clearly "hear" the phasing of the pedal when plugged in (and "on") even when no signal is running through the pedal. It's very high pitched like a dog whistle or a theremin. The rate increases and decreases along with the turn of the knob of course. When I run a signal through the pedal and use the phaser its still there but less noticeable behind the actual "sound" of the pedal.

I guess I'm not sure if this is an issue or if its the nature of the pedal? It's very distinct - not like I can hear it and my wife can't and thinks I'm crazy (which happens a lot lol). But everything else works a-okay so I just don't know what to make of it. Any thoughts? Just in case here's a picture of the board as well.

Thanks!

Note - I did singe a couple wires, you can see the black-mark on the blue one connecting the board to the foot-switch. Would that cause any issues at all?

First thing that I would suspect is a noisy power supply. What are you using to power the pedal, and do you have another supply or two around to try with it?

Yep musta been a crap power brick. I changed to using a voodoo 2 supply and everything is nice and clean now. Add a bullet to my troubleshooting list :D

Thanks for the suggestion! What a cool pedal.

Cool! Glad that did the trick for ya. We see a lot of noisy PS problems here masquerading as a pedal build issue.

Enjoy the new pedal. The Soaring Skillet is still my favorite phaser, and I've played through plenty of them....
