Hi all. Just curious, does the revised circuit of the Brown Face Tremolo fix the horrible popping every time you step on the foot switch? If it does, I'll buy the new circuit. The old one was pretty unusable because of that. Unless you always leave it on. Or off, I guess...

While I wouldn't go so far as to call the original BFT "unusable" because of the popping, I can understand why it's a definite liability to that circuit, depending upon how you use it. But I also have the new version, and that one doesn't seem to pop at all, turning on or off. It also doesn't have as great a difference between the high and low pass filter frequencies, so it doesn't get as bright & thin on the treble side of the tremolo and has a better balanced full-frequency response. The trimpots are a lot easier to dial in, as well.

So, worth spending another 60+ bucks to buy the new circuit?

Well, if you like harmonic trems and aren't satisfied with the first version, I'd say so. But I'm not you....
