Hi all,

I'm helping a good friend get this tremolo working. Bypass works as expected, No LED, no effect, but it does pass signal in effect mode and the volkume works as expected. Basically, I am guessing the LFO is not working. Here are voltages on the transistors:

Q1)
1 ) 9.6
2) 6.9
3) 4.6

Q2)
1) 1.2
2) 1.8
3) 4.7

Q3)
1) 0
2) 0
3) Small, slightly variable MV

Q4)
1) Variable in MV
2) Variable in MV
3) 0

Those transistor voltages look pretty solid with the exception of Q3. That could be because (1) you didn't have the footswitch engaged when you took the voltage readings, or (2) there's a bad solder joint on one or more of the legs, or (3) it's a bad JFET. So if you eliminate (1) and (2) as the cause, contact sales@buildyourownclone.com for a new 2N5457 JFET for Q3.

Thanks for your reply Voodooman. What voltage should we be looking for on Q3 assuming the switch is in the right position? Thanks for all your help.

I would hold off on replacing the JFET. It needs signal from the LFO to bias correctly, so if the LFO isn't working, then Q3 would appear to not work as well.

Please double check all the transistors to make sure none of the 5457 and 5088 have been mixed up. Reflow solder joints, particularly around the LFO components.
