Put together one of the Brown Face Tremolo kits yesterday.
I scrolled through others problems with the first Non working startup.
I Have the same problem I've seen others have.
Working by passed, led light and adjust for speed etc.
No Sound when placed out of by pass mode.
I also saw that some had received 330 Ohm Resistors instead of 330K Ohm Resistors.
Checking my build I do in fact have the incorrect 330 Ohm Resistors installed.
I will send an E-Mail to BYOC letting them know the issue and will add another
comment when I receive the three correct Resistors and Install them.
Thanks Again,
Terry Harper

Yeah, that's almost certainly the problem. Two of those 330K resistors are used to bias the voltage to the base of the 2N5089 transistors at Q7 and Q8. Having 330R's there instead of 330K's will definitely "screw the pooch." Let us know when you get the correct replacements installed.

Weird. I also built one today, and I think I got the right resistors? I checked them all with a meter before installing them, mostly to make sure I was reading the bands correctly, and nothing seemed off.

chip.

I ohmed out all my resistors too..
but, I didn't pay enough attention to the
K ohms or just ohms.
I remember something seemed off..
but, I figured it would be me.. :)

Received the replacement resistors yesterday.
Will try and get them replaced later today on the board
and reply with the progress.

Thanks,
Terry

Just a word of caution: take care not to force anything when desoldering the original resistors. Pulling on a solder joint when it's not full melted is the number one way to pull an eyelet or solder pad loose from the PCB, creating a new problem. Care and patience are the keys when desoldering components....along with a solder sucker and good quality desoldering braid for removing the old solder and cleaning up the eyelet for the new component installation.

Replaced the three resistors and with a little adjusting
of the two trim pots....Pedal works Perfectly!
Sounds Great!
Thanks for Your Help!
Terry :D
