Update: I fixed the volume problem by reflowing solder on a few components that looked a little weak, as well as to the footswitch and all input/output jack connections. It's so satisfying!! However, while testing with an adapter, I noticed a loud crackling that suddenly appeared, then realized it's because the battery snap made contact with the enclosure. Is this normal behavior? I think I did an okay job of wrapping it in a way that it won't make contact, but if that doesn't hold up I can just tape it to prevent it moving around.

Everything on this pedal is working perfectly, except for a slight, but noticeable, volume drop when I'm connected to this pedal (whether bypassed or engaged).

To demonstrate, I made a loop on my Boomerang III and recorded using a mic in audacity, first with the Boomerang directly into the amp, then with one pedal connected at a time (Boomerang->Pedal->Amp), all in bypass. For each track in audacity, I used the "amplify" effect to see what adjustment I would need to make to get 0dB normalization peaks. Negative values mean the volume is too high (and needs to be reduced), whereas positive values mean the volume is too low. These are my results:

    1. Direct to Amp: -0.030 dB
    2. BYOC Harmonic Tremolo: +0.466 dB
    3. BYOC Analog Chorus: -0.036 dB
    4. BYOC Overdrive 2: -0.031 dB
    5. Strymon BlueSky: -0.038 dB

Clearly, the harmonic tremolo is an outlier. In all honesty, it's really not a huge issue but I do hope there's a simple fix for it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I've never noticed the battery snap causing noise when rattling around in any pedal. This is a fairly new circuit of my own design, so maybe it has some peculiarities I'm not aware of yet. Maybe they all do it and I've just never noticed because I've never shaken a pedal while it was plugged in. If it's something that is causing you consternation, then yes, maybe cover the snap terminals with electrical tape, or just connect a battery. I don't think rechargeable ni-cad batteries leak over time, so you could probably leave one of those in there indefinitely.

I haven't noticed it with any of my other pedals, either, including my BYOC OD2 and BYOC Analog Chorus. If you want to try replicating it, I was able to repeat the noise by tapping the snaps to the side of the enclosure and tapping it with a screw driver. Good advice on covering it with tape or inserting a battery - I'll go one of those routes if it comes up again.
