Toying with the 'do i go script' or 'dont i' dialemma. So...by adding the extra resistor, do i gain more phaser sound or less??

you will gain a small amount by adding the 22k resistor. Stick in. Play with it. Take it out. Play with it. Decide for yourself. I promise you that the circuit board will be just fine. Leave the leads on the resistor a little long though.
