I finished my first project and when I plug it in, I get what sounds like a ground hum. I haven't picked up a line tester yet, but where would the likely place a buzz would come from? Everything that has a neg/pos side looks correct. If I misplaced a resistor would that cause buzz?

I'll try to get some pics up too.

Hi Brad - welcome to the forum! :D

A loud buzzing is typically from a bad ground connection. Up close, in focus pictures of the front & back of the pcb & the jack connections would be very helpful in helping diagnose your problem.

Component placement looks correct but your soldering could use some work. Go back over all you solder joints and reheat/remelt them to make sure each connection is good (wires too). This tends to fix a ton of problems and I still do it on my own builds. You need to make sure your soldering iron tip is clean, hot, and shiny. If the tip isn't shiny, you'll never get a good joint. Try to reheat each connection so that the solder joint looks smooth & shiny; you have a lot of misshapen joints there that look suspect. If you still have problems after that, post photos of the jacks please.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try that out. And report back.
