As a noob, it was really insightful to see the circuit walkthrough for the Confidence Boost. Are there any more of these for other pedals?

I'm going to start the 250+ and I would love to know more about the design.

Thanks,

Mike

You might find this article of interest

Doesn't cover the 250+, but there's a bunch of other great circuit analysis Here at ElectroSmash too.

Beavis Audio has a bunch of cool articles about building and how the tech works, for example this little gem: http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/HIW/HIW.png

Guys, thanks for posting those links.
That's the kind of thing I am interested in as well, to try to better understand what's actually going on in these circuits as well.

Question about the circuit at Beavis that wmarshguitarist provided the link to.....
If you replaced R4 with a pot, could that serve as a distortion/gain control?

I'm not sure where the best place for a gain control is in this circuit... Maybe a pot in series with a limiting resistor where R2 is.

Maybe look at a few overdrive schematics and see where they put their gain controls in relation to their gain stages?
